I think wAll can agree that Audi’s RS6 Avant is one of the coolest cars of the past decade. What’s not to like about a twin-turbo V8 AWD? big wagon? Well, okay, it would be better if it had a manual transmission. And available in brown color. Where were we? Oh that’s right! ABT Sportsline is here to turn that big wagon into a super wagon. Wagon? ABT Audi RS6+ in a limited run of 25 units is what happens when an established tuning company gets to work on every system in a car. Badassery.
Immediately noticeable is the exterior carbon fiber aerodynamics and trim package. It’s spacious, as you’d expect. This car is all about excess, and in the end it has carbon on the front lip, canards, mirrors, grille trim, side skirts, rear frills and roof spoiler. All those carbon trims are gloss coated, so you can impress everyone at autos and coffees.
Obviously this car isn’t just about good looks, as it enhances the handling of already successful Audis. ABT has also equipped the car with stiff anti-roll bar for better performance on the track. To keep the vehicle firmly attached to the road surface, a set 22-inch wheels and bolted adhesive tires, one to every corner. It doesn’t hurt that the wheels look pretty cool.
The biggest part of the package that you’ll notice from behind the wheel is the increase in power. Thankfully, ABT didn’t have to change too many turbochargers for this RS6+, as the engine is still completely factory-made. With only one stainless cat-back exhaust to release some back pressure and provide some large 4-inch tips in the rear, and a “sophisticated ABT Engine Control”, the 4-liter V8 with up to 690 hp and 649 lb-ft of torque when you fill up on gas. tank with high test. That’s an impressive jump over the 591 horsepower and 590 foot-lubs that Audi gives you.
The Last Pieces of the puzzle found in special interior components that ABT has blanked out. The gearshift knob, gearshift lever behind the wheel and dashboard trim have been replaced with carbon fiber to give a visual interior hint of what you’re driving. Get another ten thousand dollars on the interior trim and 100-horsepower front end, and you’re probably on the right ballpark.
