The problem concerns only a small fraction of the rear axle assemblies that have been installed, but Toyota was unable to identify them individually, so the number of recalls is quite wide. As of March, Toyota has sold just over 22,600 Tundras this year, some of which could be leftover 2021 models, so perhaps the balance is out of the 46,000 in the recall. was sold in the second quarter, which has yet to be reported.
