Toyota has expanded the availability and functionality of Toyota Connect Service (TCS) on some of its models.
The system and its services are available on LandCruiser 300 Series, HiLux, Fortuner, Yaris Cross, camry, Granvia and HiAce.
Eligible vehicle buyers will receive three years of Toyota Connected free of charge from the date of delivery. After three years, the owner will have to pay a subscription.
Toyota’s Connected Services functionality was first introduced on the Yaris Cross in November 2020 and includes features such as automatic collision notification, SOS emergency calling, and stolen vehicle tracking.
In April 2021, the Camry also gets the same features. The update is now rolling out adding more features to that initial list.
Depending on the vehicle model, customers can now remotely access information such as fuel level, recent trip data and vehicle location through the myToyota Connect phone app.
Also depending on the vehicle model, the app can provide information on the status of doors, lights, windows and keys, and can also send push notifications if the owner has left the lights on or forgotten. lock the car or close the windows.
Trip data, such as time and distance traveled, as well as “drive pulse” efficiency scores are also available on some models.
Owners now have the ability to remotely set sub-driver limits such as speed, position or time – and receive notifications if these parameters are violated or the engine is started.
All new features and functions have been developed and extensively tested for each specific model, Toyota says.
