Tim Tszyu, Tony Harrison gain weight for 154 pound fight
Tim Tszyu and Tony Harrison on Friday put on weight for their 154-pound bout on Saturday (Sunday in Australia) at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney. Tszyu weighs 153.6, Harrison 153.5.
The winner is expected to challenge undisputed champion Jermall Charlo.
“Weight loss has always been my issue, but not right now,” Harrison said after being weighed. “I will gain weight, but I don’t want to gain 180 pounds. Whatever my body allows. I looked him in the eye and to me he was worried. I keep hearing people counting me, and I don’t understand why.
“I’m from Motor, man. I come from Detroit. Have you ever seen a rottweiler fight a chihuahua? It’s just a different kind of dog. I just thought you guys saw my dog just biting other chihuahuas. He still hasn’t stood in front of a rottweiler.”
Tszyu says: “Now I am locked in there, and everything is out of control. I do not worry. Feel my heartbeat.
Tszyu (21-0, 15 KOs) is on the verge of his biggest win yet, a unanimous decision against Terrell Gausha last March.
Harrison (29-3-1, 21 KOs) is also close to winning, a unanimous decision against Sergio Garcia last April, but 1-1-1 in his last three games.
