Tim Bradley anxiously awaits Edgar Berlanga’s trip to the ring. The former two-time world champion wasn’t too pleased with Berlanga’s previous performance. Just five months ago, Berlanga failed to impress against rival Marcelo Esteban Coceres.

In addition to Berlanga being forced to go the gap for the second time in his career, the prospect of a hard-to-beat super-middleweight was ruled out before a unanimous decision was made.

Despite his lackluster efforts, Bradley was even more let down by Berlanga’s recent performance. Late last night, in front of a packed crowd at Madison Square Garden’s Hulu Theater, Berlanga was shaved off his head by veteran journeyman Steve Rolls.

As Berlanga made his way through the hometown crowd, he was accompanied by hip hop star Fat Joe, and musical acts such as Fabulous, Maino, Remy Ma, Papoose, Dave East and Jim Jones captured him from the sidelines.

Despite the celebrity support, Berlanga simply couldn’t make his offense as Rolls kept jumping around the ring. At one point, Berlanga angrily raised his arm to force Rolls into the middle of the ring and smack him.

When Rolls forced Berlanga to fight fire, the 37-year-old had more eye-catching scenes. While Berlanga may have ultimately made a tight decision, taking into account the considerable amount of public exposure Berlanga is receiving, Bradley believes the 24-year-old needs to justify those lofty expectations. .

Bradley told BoxingInsider.com: “Edgar gets a lot of hype and a lot of buzz around him. “The main event, you are the main event. Puerto Rican fans all came out to see him perform. He didn’t win the knockout but he didn’t achieve anything really important. You have to get better than that. ”

Throughout much of Berlanga’s early career, the highly regarded super-middleweight prospect established himself as a future boxing superstar. Furthermore, the New York native considers a confrontation with the top star of boxing at the moment, Canelo Alvarez, inevitable.

Although Berlanga proved he could talk, Bradley urged him to put down his microphone and prove his worth in the ring.

“You have to convince the fans that you will be next. You can’t just talk about it, you have to talk about it. ”
