This little Pokemon themed hatchback has a projector for your console!

Mini has teamed up with Pokemon to develop a special edition concept car that lets you plug into your game console.

Pokemon has its own television shows, comics, cards and even virtual reality mobile game. Now, there’s a Pokemon themed vehicle that has some special tricks up its sleeve. The latest collaboration sees Pokemon and Mini coming together to create a special edition Mini hatchback, called the Aceman concept. The Aceman concept was announced earlier this year, and Mini has now added a new “Pokemon mode”. Once that is activated, everyone’s beloved Pikachu will take over the entire console.

In a short video shared of Mini, the car on display looks no different from the standard concept car. However, with just one touch, the car’s “Pokemon mode” is activated and the Pikachu character takes over the entire dashboard. The vehicle also uses an external projector on the vehicle to display Pokemon characters on the wall while you and your friends can sit inside and simply look at images of these characters. But there’s another trick this car can do.

Themed Pokemon Mini Aceman is your special projector

Mini says that Pokemon mode also lets you connect your game console to your car. Therefore, if you are waiting for someone in the parking lot and want to relieve your boredom, you can simply plug the game console into the car. Obviously, you need to have a game console ready and a flat wall in front for the projector to do its magic.

Mini doesn’t say which game consoles are supported, although we assume one can be plugged in Sony PlayStation 5, Microsoft Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and probably most consoles have HDMI ports. Can pro gamers connect their gaming laptop to their car for a quick look at Forza Horizon 5 while their weight is on someone? Mini has some questions to answer.

Sadly, this is just a concept for now and Mini has not expressed any intention of making this a reality. However, there is actually a car being produced that has a game console built in. It’s called the Tesla Model S Plaid and is said to be able to run games like The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 in decent graphics settings. With electric cars popularizing the idea of big screens in cars, can we expect the upcoming Ola electric car to enable something similar?
