This Is The Only Porsche Cayenne Transsyberia You Can Buy

Now that car auction prices have begun to cool down a bit, there are a few gems to be found on auction sites like Bring an intro. Get this distinctive looking Porsche Cayenne currently listed on Cars & Bid.

At first glance, you might think it’s one of those rare Cayenne Transsyberias. If you don’t know, the Cayenne Transsyberia is a special edition of the first generation Cayenne. Built to celebrate Porsche’s victory in a race over 4,000 miles, 285 were initially built. Of course, if it’s a Porsche, it has to make a street version for customers.

Porsche has planned limited production worldwide, all based on the Cayenne S. The production versions of the Transsyberia look exactly like their racing counterparts, but with differences underneath. They have a shorter axle ratio and an air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension that provides the highest 10 inches of ground clearance.

Visually, regardless of the exterior or interior color you choose, some models receive orange accents in places like the dashboard, wheels and lower body panels. Only 600 were produced, of which 285 were destined for North America. Among them, only 102 people came to the US, while Canada received 17 people; three of which are manuals.

This example is not that thing special. What you see here is a 2005 Porsche Cayenne Turbo Transsyberia Tribute. It started life as a Cayenne Turbo, which isn’t bad with a 450hp twin-turbo V8 under the hood. Then the owner went and added some cool “Transsyberia” exterior graphics on the lower body panels, along with orange (original) wheels as well as orange mirror caps. Inside, it’s a standard mid-2000s Cayenne with a Havanna/Sand Beige interior. The real good things are the aftermarket add-ons.

Cars & Bids notes that the owner has provided a partial list of mods. This includes 275/55 RoadOne Cavalry mud all-terrain tires, a front bumper-mounted camera, a 13,000-pound winch with synthetic ropes, a three-inch lift kit and 1-inch subframe drop kit, and rear tire racks welded to a bumper reinforcement plate as well as cut in the rear bumper to make room for brackets. There is also an extra battery in the rear cargo area. It’s also not without flaws, some of which can frighten some buyers.

The CarFax Report shows a small bent fender in 2016, another in 2019 and a third in ’22 resulting in slight damage to the front. There was a bit of corrosion on some of the undercarriage, and then the engine. That 450hp starts to look a lot less appealing with the “Service Now” warning light on the dashboard along with the odometer reading just over 179,000 miles.

If that doesn’t scare you off, it’s currently listed for cheap. By the time this post appears, the auction will likely be over. But as of this writing, bids are currently at $6,500 with no reserve.
