Best known for playing Sam Puckett on the Nickelodeon series and later taking on the role on Sam & Cat with Ariana GrandeJennette McCurdy explains on her Empty Inside podcast that not only has she stopped acting, but her Hollywood success doesn’t make her proud.
“I quit a few years ago because I didn’t want to do it at first,” she shared in an episode in March 2021, going on to explain that her mother encouraged her to start acting. when she was young and her gig was over. financial support for her family. McCurdy continued, “My acting experience is, I’m ashamed of the parts I’ve done in the past. “I resented my career in many ways. I’ve been on it since I was 13 to 21, and by the time I was 15, I was so embarrassed. My friends at 15, they weren’t like, ‘Oh, that’s great, you’re on this Nickelodeon show. ‘ What a shame.”
