The voice of Marge Simpson in Latin America, Nancy Mackenzie, dies

Nancy Mackenzie, the actress who lent her voice to Marge Simpson in The Simpsons for the Latin American market, has passed away.
The Peruvian-Mexican voiceover artist is 81 years old.
Mackenzie has had a long, illustrious career, voicing hundreds of characters in films and television series, including Trinity in The Matrix.
News of her death was announced on social networks by Patricia Acevedo and Claudia Motta, the actresses who voice Lisa and Bart in the Latin American version of The Simpsons.
“With profound sadness, the Simpson kids (Lisa and Bart) announce the death of our beloved mother, Marge Simpson (Nancy Mackenzie),” Acevedo wrote on Instagram. Rest in peace, we will never forget you.”
Nancy Mackenzie voiced Marge Simpson in Spanish in Latin America for the first 15 seasons of the animated series.
The actor who lent his voice to Homer, Humberto Vélez, also paid tribute to Mackenzie.
“[We spent] many hours together, working and traveling. One life. Your passing leaves me heartbroken, but I honor your love of life, being free and living life to the fullest,” he wrote on X.
Mackenzie was born in Peru but moved to Mexico in her 20s, where she became a stage and television actress.
During her career spanning more than five decades, she starred in many Mexican soap operas.
She also voiced many famous actresses, including Bette Midler, Diane Keaton, Sigourney Weaver and Judi Dench.
But she became most famous for voicing animated characters in Spanish, including Disney villain Cruella de Vil, Daphne in The Thirteen Ghosts of Scooby-Do, and Sailor Galaxia in the anime series Sailor Moon. .
