The town refuses to help the poor eagle hanging from the tree, so the army veteran walks in

The resident of Rush, Minnesota, witnessed a distressed bald eagle hanging from a tree 70 feet above the ground for more than two days. While many were unconcerned about the bird’s condition, others felt she was dead. However, veteran Jason Galvin realized he had to act.

After hours of trying to find the eagle with binoculars, he discovered that it was still alive. He decided to use his rifle to free the bird since he received military training. Neighbors tried to convince Jason not to do so, arguing that “security measures were compromised” and “liability concerns” would arise from his actions.

As the sun burned, Jason approached the tree and aimed his rifle at the branch where the eagle was caught. Over the course of the next several hours, Jason fired more than 150 rounds into the same spot on that branch. Finally, a lucky blow pierced the branch and sent the eagle plummeting down to safety.

The eagle is cared for at a local rescue center. Jason named her “Freedom” because he saved her on the 4th of July weekend! She will be released to her home environment once she has fully recovered. What an amazing rescue! Let’s announce and remember this brave veteran!
