12 jurors selected consider the case and reached a verdict in the trial Kyle Rittenhouse was instructed about the law, but no one told them what to do when they entered the room.

“This is one of the great mysteries of our legal system,” CNN Senior Legal Analyst Elie Honig said of what comes next in the process.

He said the group will first elect a foreman, but then, different juries approach the task differently.

“All we’ll know is that we’ll get small hints periodically over the next few days,” Honig said, adding that those hints will be in the form of notes. The jury may ask to see certain evidence or ask to re-read their testimony.

In the end, they will vote on each individual score, Honig explained.

“Not all are guilty or all are not guilty. We may be guilty of some crimes, not guilty of others,” he said.

A group of 18 jurors were in court for the entire trial but six were disqualified by a random draw Tuesday morning. The 12-person final jury consisted of five men and seven women, according to a pool reporter in court.

More on the case: Rittenhouse faces five counts and if convicted of the most serious offence, he could face the mandatory sentence of life in prison.

Testing has more a dozen videos in the night that shows what happened before, during and after the shooting.

Most of the facts about what happened that night are not up for debate – rather, the focus of the trial was on analyzing Rittenhouse’s actions and whether they could be considered “reasonable”.

CNN’s Eric Levenson, Carma Hassan, and Brad Parks contributed reporting to this post.
