Cats love to rule the house and leave their mark on everything. Of course, they also spend a lot of time lounging and that’s where the cat’s belongings are.
Many people invest in cat plants or beds to make their feline friends as comfortable as possible, but such items are often bulky and unattractive. In addition, they are often not very eco-friendly as they end up in the landfill after the cats are done with them.
Knowing the difficulties of typical cat furniture, the designer Emma Holland Denver created a whole new concept for cat furniture: A luxurious, eco-friendly Cat Lounger!
The miniature sofa is handcrafted with cats in mind and sold by In process, a company that specializes in showcasing work by minority designers and manufacturers.
Emma announced the launch of Cat Couch on Independence Day on Instagram, saying, “I am extremely excited to announce the soft launch of Cat Couch at @ wip.la. I personally designed and modeled Cat Couch almost 5 years ago, wanting to create an object that both me and my cats would enjoy. Cat Couch was and still is the answer. ”
She went on to say that her cats are still using the nearly five-year-old Cat Couch’s original prototype!
Follow Product Description, Cat Couch is handcrafted from Baltic Birch plywood and designed “to be a beautiful holder for a recyclable and replaceable scrap paper.”
The description reads: “Scratch, flip, scratch, recycle, insert new scraper. We aim to replace all that wasteful, uggo cat furniture out there with a sustainable and luxurious solution. ”
After your cat scratches the trackpad portion of your couch, you can simply remove it, recycle it, and insert a new one! It allows the couch to last much longer than alternatives and cause less waste.
What makes the Cat Couch even more appealing is the lovely patterned cushion it comes with. Three different cushioning options designed by Block store and are hand-printed in small quantities using non-toxic pigments.
