Seattle, Washington: A local photographer swears that final_image_version_8_USE_THIS_ONE_edit_edit_edit_edit_copy.TIFF is the last edited version of this image. Not really. Promise.

Teddy Bridges, a local landscape photographer, has been working on the series for a while:

Well, I think I dialed everything in between final_image_version_5_edit_edit.TIFF, then I saw a hiker I forgot to copy. So I solved that and saved it as final_image_version_6_edit_edit.TIFF.

Unfortunately for Bridges, he later realized that a few iterations earlier he had accidentally opened final_image_version_2_edit.TIFF instead of final_image_version_2_edit_edit.TIFF and had used 8-bit space for several versions of the file. , resulting in some color bands in the sky that were once seen, could not be unseen.

I had to redo a bunch of edits in 16-bit mode, but once I did, I saved it as final_image_version_7_USE_THIS_ONE_edit_edit.TIFF so there was no mistake which printer to send it to.

However, Bridges ran into another hiccup when he realized he had forgotten to calibrate the new monitor he was using for editing. After crossing his fingers and running the correction, he was disappointed to discover that all his images were now yellow, resulting in final_image_version_8_USE_THIS_ONE_edit_edit.TIFF. Everything seemed to be going well, until Bridges’ wife walked in. She begins the story:

I poke my head in to see how things are going, and Teddy looks relieved, saying he’s finally done. The photo looks great! Although, I noticed a small black dot in the sky. I asked him if it was supposed to be there. He squinted, licked his thumb, angrily rubbed the screen where the dot was, then angrily mumbled something about ‘**** ing sensor dust’.

Fstoppers ends up registering with Bridges, he swears that final_image_version_8_USE_THIS_ONE_edit_edit_edit_edit_copy.TIFF is the final image iteration. We will continue to update.
