The next-gen Genesis G90 looks like the sleek, elegant flagship the brand needs
NS Genesis G90 the top sedan has experienced a pretty big refresh just a few years ago, and now it’s getting what appears to be a whole new generation. And now, Genesis shows only on the surface, but looks very promising, especially in context other impressive services of the brand.
Overall, the car looks much lower and wider than the current tall and dignified model. The nose also looks longer. And speaking of the nose, it actually has a smaller main grille (at least proportionally), which has two layers of mesh pattern. The headlights are really split and line up with the turn signals mounted on the fenders. Also worth noting is that the hood is a clamshell that extends to the grille, lights and wheels, minimizing cutouts.
On the sides, there is a large amount of tumblehome, which further emphasizes the width of the car, as well as the pronounced wheel arches. The panels are very clean with delicate decoration and lines extending from the body to the tail. This look is complemented by matching door handles. The rear end features separate taillights with large sections for additional lighting needs, and they blend in well with the cutouts for the fenders.
Sadly we couldn’t see inside G90 but it would be nice based on other recent Genesis models. It will likely continue to use the same twin-turbo V6 as it does now. It’s possible that a 5.0-liter V8 could still be offered, but that seems unlikely. Rear- and all-wheel drive will be offered with an eight-speed automatic transmission. More information on specifications and interior design will come later.
