The new Porsche Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport is a GT3 Cup car racing driver

NS 2022 Porsche Cayman GT4 RS It may seem like a road racing car, but the real race car is what it is Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. Discovered along a motorway at Los Angeles Auto Show, the GT4 RS Clubsport is a similar racer that anyone can buy and use in the SRO series without any modifications.

Porsche got together a Clubsport version of Cayman for a long time now, and this one is even better than the last one. Like the road car, its engine has been significantly improved. Porsche said it gave Car 911 GT3 Cup and just put it in GT4. It delivers 500 horsepower and 343 pound-feet of torque from the naturally aspirated 4.0-liter six-cylinder in the GT4, which we’ll note is a 10 horse and 4 pound reduction on the car. GT3 Cup car, because even in the race, the 911 wins out. The Redline is 800 rpm higher than before, as it is currently at 9,000 rpm. The torque curve is also wider thanks to an extra 0.2 liters of displacement. You can choose between two exhaust systems, one quieter than the other, in case the tracks you are racing have limited noise. All gearshifts are done through a seven-speed PDK transmission with a shorter ratio than the previous six-speed version.

Handling is improved over the upcoming Clubsport through new damper technology that Porsche says offers better body control than before. It also has new anti-roll bars and adjustability is king. You can modify the ride height, camber ratio, toe and springs in both front and rear. The stability control system was also updated this year.

Another area where Porsche is involved with the new Clubsport is aviation. New forward dives and a larger front spoiler add more downforce at the front. The vents on the front fenders are inspired by the GT3 R with unique air vents that soften airflow around the wheels. Meanwhile, at the rear, the wings have been fitted with a new 20mm gurney flap and two additional stages of adjustment. The body itself is made of many parts using natural fiber composites. Instead of carbon fiber, which is a linen-based composite that Porsche is testing for use in future road cars. Parts made with this material include the doors, rear wing, front cover, fenders, front aero parts and steering wheel.

As for the interior, you’ll find a welded roll cage, adjustable Recaro racing seats, a six-point harness, a fire extinguisher system, and a gas jack system with three jacks.

If you want a new GT4 RS Clubsport, you’ll have to pay $229,000 in North America.
