The most iconic boxing matches of 2022

There have been some big fights this year. The world of boxing has put us all in our seats and this will continue. 2023 promises to be a great year for boxing fans everywhere, but for now, our focus remains on 2022.

Let’s take a look at some of the most iconic fights that took place in 2022.

This was a match we all knew was going to be a big deal, as it involved a real fight for the heavyweight championship. Tyson Fury went up against Dillian Whyte and it was a fight.

Before the wars, betting odds and predictions (found on World Sports Network) could have been very interesting. There is no clear indication of who will win the match, and bookies everywhere know this. The odds show how big the fight is expected. The good news is that those who have bet at least once on Tyson Fury will have some winnings to collect.

Dillian Whyte certainly packed quite a bit of punch. While he is an underdog, Whyte also shows that he has every right to be there. Of course, Fury won by knockout in the sixth round. The whole match, and especially the knockout, is the one that everyone will talk about for a while.

With Anthony Joshua as the favorite to win against Oleksandr Usyk, this is a fight many are looking forward to. Both fighters had a lot to offer their fans as soon as they entered the fray. However, the night turned for the worse for one of the competitors.

This is the first time Joshua meets Usyk and it may not be the last. However, Usyk was clearly the top dog early on in the fight. In fact, his skill has proven to be overwhelming for Joshua. Winning in scoring, Usyk holds the WBA, IBF and WBO belts.

Now, Anthony Joshua needs to rebuild his career after his third loss. His opponent, however, has yet to be defeated. It looks like Oleksandr Usyk may be entering the ring to fight Tyson Fury at some point. It will indeed be a fight worth watching.

Back in April of this year, we saw Errol Spence vs Yordenis Ugas. Audiences are certainly pleased and perhaps a little surprised to see Spence return to the ring so soon. After all, he somehow survived a fatal car crash in 2019. However, the crash didn’t stop Spence as he went on to beat Danny Garcia before going to meet Ugas. .

Yordenis Ugas managed to knock his opponent’s mouthpiece flying, leaving Spence slightly stunned. However, the fight got back on track soon after. Spence certainly hoped that the next time his opponent landed a brutal right hand would not have the same result.

Going deeper into the fight, it looks like Ugas is ready to win. At one point, he let Spence go straight to the ropes. However, Errol Spence did not seem to mind this. In fact, it could be said that this act helped propel him forward. Fighting in his homeland, Spence began to fight back more fiercely. It looks like he has a lot of determination in his gloves, much to the dismay of Yordenis Ugas fans.

In the 10th round, Spence received a systematic blow. This beating caused his right eye to close. This ended the round in just one minute 44 seconds. As a result, Errol Spence was the winner. He took away the WBA weight class title. This is not the first title that Spence has received. He also has several IBF and WBC titles. Now he has a new one to add to his collection.

There have been some excellent fights in 2022. Arguably it’s hard to narrow things down. However, the three battles above have to be the most iconic battles of 2022. We can only wonder what 2023 will bring, until then, we can only bask in the glory. of the great fights we’ve seen this year.
