Renault-owned Alpine took a trip to heritage before designing the latest limited edition A110. Called the San Remo 73, the coupe celebrates 50 years since the original A110 took first place in the San Remo Rally and earned the brand its first manufacturer title.
It’s almost impossible to mistake San Remo 73 for Regular production A110. Alpine gave it the Original caddy Blue paint, contrasting black finishes on the roof arches, red roof panels, plus white and black accents on the hood, doors and rear bumper to create a link between the modern A110 and The predecessor version won the races. grand opening Bright Blanc painted 18-inch wheels add a finishing touch to the design. Much as A110 Tour de Corsica Shown in 2022, San Remo 73 pays tribute to the past without copying it.
The interior features microfiber upholstery with gray stitching, one-piece Sabelt bucket seats and aluminum passenger legroom. The San Remo 73 comes equipped with a standard seat belt, but it’s six-point harness ready, so enthusiasts can take it to races. Finally, a metal plaque engraved with the car’s serial number reminds occupants that they’re not in an ordinary A110.
Power for the San Remo 73 comes from a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine derived from the A110. It is supercharged to develop 300 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 251 pound-feet of torque from 2,400 to 6,000 rpm. The mid-mounted engine exhales through a sports exhaust system and it turns the rear wheels through a seven-speed automatic transmission. Brembo brake included in the list of standard equipment.
Alpine will make 200 A110 San Remo 73 units, and prices in France start at €89,000, an equivalent of about $94,400 at current conversion rates. There is no indication that the coupe will be sold in the United States, but a rumor brand statement has set its sights on our market. It’s too early to tell if we’ll see the A110 here or Alpine will bring it more mainstream models it is currently under development.
