Agility courses are all about speed and accuracy. For Lobo the Siberian Husky, however, the agility course at the 2020 Westminster Dog Show was all about fun. Every year, there’s at least one headless dog in the game, and this year, it’s clearly Lobo. The adorable puppy loves to take his time and admire all the new sights and smells. He’s not in to win it, but instead, he’s in for a fun experience!
Lobo’s Moment in the Spotlight
Lobo is part of the 24-inch agility competition, which means that the size of the ridge between each dog’s shoulder blades is 24 inches. There are many talented puppies in this group. However, when Lobo stepped onto the stage, everyone was in awe of his beauty and they were sure that he would do an excellent job. Even so, they couldn’t be more wrong!
His handler, Alan Davis, has clearly worked hard to train his dog. However, even the best training can only go so far. When it comes to the real competition, Lobo’s head is no longer in the game. For him, nothing is at stake.
As soon as it was Lobo’s turn, it became clear that he would not be the winner. He excitedly jumped over the first hurdle, but after that, he decided to go his own way. He misses some obstacles and stops occasionally to explore.
When Lobo approached the weaving pole, he was certainly in no hurry at all. At first, he tries to avoid them altogether. But when Davis instructs him to do it, he does it at his own leisurely pace. He kept going from there, but was quickly distracted by the smell of the course.
The stupid Husky waits until he feels like it before he completes the course. He obviously knows how to do each obstacle, but he decides that he just wants to have fun with it.
Lobo Goes Viral!
In the end, Lobo took a total of 76.32 seconds to complete the track. He also has 60 errors along the way. He was nowhere near the winner of the round, a Border Collie named Pink. Pink completed the entire track in just 29.35 seconds! Although it took such a long time, Lobo still became a favorite character. The video of the guy’s performance quickly went viral, making everyone burst into laughter. Even during the contest, the audience had many cheers.
His video has been viewed at least 2 million times! People cannot fully understand the adorable personality of this Husky. Competition means nothing when you can have a great time instead. Besides, people are more likely to remember Lobo’s performance than any winning performance.
Lobo may not have won this year’s dog show, but he has won many hearts, and that’s what matters. He has a lovely, upbeat personality that is arguably better than any real award.
