The final Kirby Tilt-and-Roll board will be my undo

This motion-based Kirby and the Forgotten Land mini-game is harder than it looks

One of the hardest parts of Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a simple little motion control puzzle board. No Joke: I’m Struggling with the Tilt-and-Roll Kirby mini-game more than I’ve ever been in Ultimate Cup Za boss-rush arena with harder variations of the big baddies.

All I had to do was avoid the pitfalls and clap Kirby ball into the hole by tilting my Nintendo Switch ~that’s all~, but my nerves refuse to go cold. I’m wasting a lot of time and money trying to finish this content completely – the final “Extra Hard” variant has other ideas.

For a little backup, Kirby and the Forgotten Landlike many Kirby previous games, there are some cute side activities to reinforce the main adventure. This one – Tilt-and-Roll Kirby – at least starts that way. If you’re playing at the same time and haven’t come across any of these, you need to save 180 Waddle Dees before this little game tent shows up in town.

The second table is a cinch, even with two Kirbys.

There are three motion control puzzle boards to complete, and the first two aren’t bad at all. However, the third thing… I’ve spent dozens of tries and I’m still not sure how to reliably do the final zig-zagging. Thankfully, you only need to pass the Normal (much more forgiving) version of these boards to score Game-Shop character Waddle Dee for your capsule collection, so the Extra Hard variants are for bragging rights.

I’m having a blast enjoying each piece Kirby and the Forgotten Land, so I can’t stop now. I just need to pass this EX course Once. That’s what I always tell myself.

Are you too good for your home?

The Extra Hard variation of the third Kirby Tilt-and-Roll board is terrifying.

I’ve tried playing with perfect posture, a little bit of relaxation, a lot of relaxation, back, stomach, works. I always correct mistakes in the last few seconds.

You get 999 Star Coins and a checkmark to beat the Extra Hard third board in less than 30 seconds. Does it have “problems?” No! Will I ever look at it again? Absolutely not. But I need to confirm that. I won’t let the sunk cost fallacy stop my obsession with pointless gaming.

This is the footage of Extra Hard clear recorded by a YouTube user MewtwoStruckBack, guard. Sometimes, watching someone else beat a challenge is literally all it takes to start another endeavor and knock it out of the park. I wasn’t so lucky this time.

I don’t have any specific advice for this third round – I don’t know of any Breath of the Wild-Style Maze subversion strategy – but I thought it would be fun to share our pain.

Maybe I would have had an easier time if I had grown up playing Kirby Tilt ‘n’ Tumble on Game Boy Color. As neat as it may seem at the time, that matte pink ink cartridge is too much of a risky prospect on a super-constrained gamer budget. I am not cut for these gimmicks!
