Europe needs to call the economic suicide hotline…

The EU’s increasingly centrally planned society took another big step forward, when the bloc banned the transport of fossil fuels.

Starting in 2025, new fossil fuel vehicles will no longer be able to register in the EU. They will be completely banned.

This is what the European Union decided after the MEP approved its new draconian auto emissions measure on February 14. Although used diesel and petrol vehicles will not be effects, but they are eventually discarded at the end of their lifespan.

EU fast track to 0

Carmakers, the main driver of the European economy, will have to gradually reduce the total CO₂ emissions of all passenger cars they sell within a year. By 2035, CO₂ emissions from newly registered passenger cars will be zero.

Proponents argue that it gives European carmakers a clear timeframe to shift production to electric vehicles and will ultimately force them to become more mature on the international stage. It is in their own interest, Europe believes. The European Union’s goal is to be “climate neutral” by 2050. The Greens are calling it a victory for the planet.

Millions of jobs are at risk

However, critics say no one is ready for such a draconian end to internal combustion engine vehicles and that the measure would put millions of jobs at risk. In Germany alone, about 600,000 people work in the production of petrol and diesel cars. And about 20% of all German jobs are at least partly dependent on the auto industry.

In addition, neither the European nor German grids are ready for large loads. An all-electric transportation sector would likely not be possible without strict restrictions on distribution and charging.

Experts also warn that cars will become a luxury item only for the rich, and the overall mobility of ordinary people will be severely limited.

Center on the right European People’s Party (EPP) warned of the “Havana effect”, where Europeans will be forced to drive classic fossil fuel-burning cars after new sales are banned – because they won’t be able to afford electric cars .

Another dream broken by reality?

So what is the chance that this new EU draconian policy will actually work in the future? To get some pointers, one need only look at Europe’s overall green movement and progress so far. It is not beautiful:

  • Heating bills soar, lack of fuel
  • The power grid was unstable, the supply
  • Food shortages and inflation
  • Supply chain disruption
  • Many items double-digit inflation
  • Mass censorship (to hide the problem)
  • De-industrialization and loss of prosperity

Currently, due to the unstable power grid, the German government has been forced to extend the operating time of 3 nuclear power plants that were scheduled to be decommissioned on December 31, 2022. The policy reversal. is inevitable whenever there is a change. Sky ideology conflicts with reality.

Violent conflict with reality

Europe’s dream of a “clean”, zero-emission electric vehicle will also disappear when it collides with reality. Too many major downsides have been dismissed or completely denied by Europe’s green center planners. Therefore, the chances of an energy policy reversal becoming a reality are almost certain in the future.

There won’t be any soft landings for this reckless blind leap by the EU.
