When the temperature drops, some pets can gather around the fire with the family. But other animals weren’t so lucky, including the Boston Corgi who was locked in a box and abandoned inside a construction site potty as winter drew to a close.
Thankfully, the abandoned dog was able to free her head and front paws, allowing her to begin barking for help. A neighbor heard the dog’s frantic squeal and called the police, who rescued the dog from a fatal condition at the time.

The rescued dog was taken to MSPCA-Angell, a shelter in Boston, where workers began nursing it back to health. Thankfully, the dog – not chipped or shackled, making it nearly impossible for rescuers to find its name or original owner – began to relax when it realized he was safe.
“She started doing some shows where she started to play around a bit, loosen up and start showing a much sweeter side,” the shelter worker said. “Our next goal is to make sure she’s in a place where something like this will never happen to her again.”
