When I first got acquainted with photography, “fall photography” was one of the most confusing terms I came across. Honestly, I don’t know what it means because, in Australia, we don’t say “autumn”, we say “autumn”. So the term threw me at first. But it’s also confusing given the fact that in the southern suburbs of Sydney, where I grew up, there’s not a huge variation in the color of the trees nor the spectacular burst of reds, yellows and oranges. you get in other places. It wasn’t until I moved to Japan that I understood what all that fuss was about: the autumn colors here are absolutely stunning, and when you pair them with temples and shrines, you really have You can get some great pictures. But what makes for good fall photography?

That brings us to this great video by Mark Denney, in which he gives viewers over fifteen tips on how to improve your fall photography. The first thing I really like about this video is that he doesn’t ask you to buy any new equipment. One might assume that you need some specific filter for your lens or the like, but Denney isn’t asking for anything like that. And if you live in the US, he’ll show you the newly released 2022 foliage prediction map, showing you exactly where and when foliage falls across the country. Usually you only get a kaleidoscope in about a week or so, so knowing exactly when it’s needed is extremely important. There are other great editing tips as well, so check out the video and let me know what you think below.
