“The Batman” hits theaters this weekend, ranking second among films with the second-highest domestic openings during the pandemic.
The Warner Bros. the film generated $128.5 million in ticket sales over the weekend, well above studio expectations of $110 million.

Box office analysts expect “The Batman” to draw in a smaller audience than “No Way Home” because of its darker, more mature themes and PG-13 rating. The series will likely benefit from repeat views in the coming weeks.
