Save for a new screen? To help you navigate dozens of seemingly identical TV models from Samsung, LG, Vizio, TCL, Sony, and others, we’ve watched hundreds of hours of content and picked a few favorites. ours. We’ve listed everything from the best budget TVs to the absolute best sets you can buy—and some great picks in between.
Unless otherwise labeled, every TV we link to is 55 inches. There are usually larger and smaller sizes available on the retailer’s website, but this is a very good size for most living rooms. All of these models have Ultra HD 4K pixel resolutions (and some have 8K), as there aren’t many good reasons to buy a standard HDTV anymore.
We also believe that you should invest in a good soundbar and TV streaming stick. TVs these days have great displays, but they suck in terms of sound and running apps. Be sure to see more of our other buy guide.
Update January 2022: We’re waiting for new batches of 2022 TVs, which means you can buy some of our current favorites below for less than before. That said, there were slight price fluctuations due to lack of international chips. We’ve updated the links and prices, but they may vary more than usual.
