For this round of Deep Reviews, we wanted to keep things simple and straight to the point. Therefore, when we call 74 candles from 26 brand, our strategy is to choose our favorites purely based on scent regardless of brand, price and/or familiarity. Yes, we’ve named some of the most expensive candles on the market from brands like Byredo and Frédéric Malle, but we’ve also called the budget-friendly classics you know (and probably love) from names like Bath & Body Do. Goal: Every falling candle we sniff will be judged on a level playing field.
When all the candles arrived, they were laid out on a table in the lobby of the WWW LA headquarters. Throughout the day, employees from all departments were tasked with smelling each candle—yes, lots of palate-cleansing coffee beans were involved—and sending out their top five candles, or so on. called a few selected candles that they are willing to spend money to enjoy. Then, from the hundreds of favorites that were submitted (we had at least 20 employees involved, hence 100 potential candidates), I counted the candles that appeared most often to come up with our final number 10.

The best new launches: The most popular newcomer is most likely not on your radar or anyone you know (yet).
