Tesla Light Show feature showcased on Star Wars Day in Malaysia – Model Y, Model 3 EV in the making

Wesak Day is on May 4, which also marks the day known as Star Wars Day. To celebrate the latter, Star Wars Malaysia Fan Club teamed up with Tesla Owner Malaysia to produce a short video featuring the Tesla Light Show function, featuring club members in costumes depicting characters from the series including Chewbacca the Wookiee.

Here, Tesla light show choreographed by Daren Yoong, who posted the video and performed with a lineup of 16 Teslas including a combination of Model Y and sample 3where the vehicles are synchronized with a certain selection of music, in this case the Imperial March theme in the series.

Released in late 2021, the Light Show function was launched to work on .mp3 or .wav audio files, which can be synchronized with a light sequence that can run for up to five years minute. As shown in the YouTube clip recorded in Malaysia – as well as a recently uploaded video from Singapore – the Imperial March sequence lasts just over three minutes.

Tesla’s presence in Malaysia was not official at the start, as units from the US EV maker in the country have arrived via gray input channel. That will change, as Tesla EVs will soon be available to buy directly from Tesla Motors, MITI Secretary Tengku Zafrul Aziz announced on social media in early March this year.

Tesla’s official entry into the Malaysian market will see the US company establish its headquarters and establish Tesla Experience Centers as well as the Supercharger network. In February, we reported that Tesla Services Sdn Bhd was renamed to Tesla Sdn Bhd in October 2022, with the change in SSM data showing that the company has a change in operations and is preparing to officially enter the market.
