Tesla Cybertruck is crash tested in the real world

We haven’t seen it yet Tesla e-truck is being subjected to independent crash testing, but an example of the electric pickup was subjected to a hard crash in the US, which gave us a look at how it handled impacts.

Image uploaded one Tesla e-truck fan group On Facebook by user Dale Gribble shows the truck with a stainless steel body right after being machined.

Its passenger-side door was completely deformed and entered the cabin, causing the airbags to deploy and the glass to shatter – although instead of shattering, the laminated windows remained held together as intended.

While it appears the Cybertruck’s doors functioned as designed, it’s unclear whether its batteries were affected by the crash. However, the damage we can see appears to have been enough for the pickup to be written off.

According to Mr. Gribble, the driver of the Cybertruck suffered an arm injury, although there is little information about the occupant of the Ford Edge SUV that collided with the electric pickup.

Unfortunately, we still don’t know how the Cybertruck stacks up against its competitors head-on, as Tesla has yet to submit its electric pickup to official crash testing by safety agencies. .

When deliveries began in November, it showed a short video of the Cybertruck hit the concrete wall head-on at 35 mph (56.3 km/h) – instead of overlapping at 40 mph (64.4 km/h), as was standard in the tests IIHS collision in the United States.
