Teen chess prodigy R Praggnanandhaa beat world champion Magnus Carlsen for 2nd time this year

R Praggnanandhaa, the 16-year-old chess prodigy, defeated Magnus Carlsen for the second time this year by overtaking the world champion in the fifth round of the ongoing Chess Championship. Earlier this year, Praggnanandhaa beat Carlsen and now after about three months he has beaten the Norwegian again.

Chessable Masters is a 16-player online fast chess tournament. The rivalry between Carlsen and Praggnanandhaa was headed for a draw but Carlsen made a big mistake in his 40s.order move and then resign on his next move.

Prior to that, Praggnanandhaa beat Carlsen in the Airthings Masters online blitz in February this year.

After Day 2 of the Chess Tournament, Carlsen was in 3rd place with 15 points while Praggnanandhaa was in 5th place with 12 points.

China’s Wei Yi is at the top with a score of 18, followed by David Anton with a score of 15.
