Target’s big annual gift card sale this weekend

You can purchase gift cards in smaller denominations with a maximum discount of $500 or a $500 gift card. If you want to increase the value of this deal, you can pay for your discounted gift cards with one Chasing Flex Freedom via the PayPal payment option on the Target.com desktop site. If you haven’t used up your $1,500 on Freedom Flex’s 5-point-per-dollar bonus categories this quarter (including PayPal), you’ll earn 5 points for every dollar spent on this purchase (activation required).

With this you can buy a $500 Target gift card for $450 and earn 1,350 Ultimate Rewards points (or $27 at current valuation of 2 cents per point) via PayPal using Freedom Flex card. If you also have a premium Ultimate Rewards card such as Chase Sapphire Reserve, then 2,250 points you’ll earn is worth $45 at TPG’s valuation. A total of $95 in savings/income on a $500 purchase. This is beneficial if you’re going to be spending those dollars in the coming weeks and months.
