Take-Two Scraps Hangar 13 Game, Writes Off $53 Million
A brand new undertaking by Mafia developer Hangar 13 has been shelved by Take-Two, with the organisation writing off $53 million in consequence. The discharge, codenamed Volt, has been in manufacturing since 2017, in keeping with Bloomberg, and has apparently gone by “a number of iterations because it was first conceived”.
Based on sources “conversant in the choice”, as reported by the ever-reliable Jason Schreier, the “present model [of the game] struggled attributable to reboots, technological hiccups, and challenges brought on by COVID-19”. Apparently the title was billed as “Cthulhu meets Saints Row”, and featured superheroes in “on-line gameplay”.
Sadly for the crew at Hangar 13, executives at Take-Two and publishing label 2K Video games didn’t see the worth in finishing the undertaking, particularly given how a lot growth time can be required to complete it off. Workers on the studio will meet with bosses later immediately to be taught what’s subsequent for the crew – hopefully there are not any layoffs.
