Sweet cat adopts orphaned hedgehog

The maternal instinct is very strong – not only in humans but also in other animals. It is also what helps animals adopt orphans of other animals.

Sometimes these acceptances vary between species. For a litter of eight small hedgehogs, they need a surrogate mother.

Sadly, their biological mother was killed in a rather gruesome accident involving a lawn mower.

While they may have struggled to survive on their own, they won’t need to. A cat that looks a lot like her mother named Musya turns out to be the surrogate mother these kids need.

After the tragic death of the hedgehog mother, Musya happily adopted them and provided them with the love and care they needed. The porcupine immediately caught the sweet little black cat and happily attached to her. And the feeling is mutual.

The cat feline really enjoys being a surrogate mother to the tiny piglets, feeding and staying with them the same way she does with her kittens. It is incredibly heartwarming to know that these orphans are on good terms with Musya.
