An easy half-mile workout in: 49 1/5 from the UAE Derby Sponsored by runner-up Mubadala (G2) Summer is tomorrow head to the training session May 2 at Churchill Downs for the Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve (G1) prospects.
Michael Hilary and Negar Burke’s Summer Is Tomorrow worked comfortably under the guidance of Caroline Seemar, wife of coach Bhupat Seemar. The 3-year-old covered his first two clamps in: 25 4/5 before quickly and finished the second half of his job in: 23 2/5. The Summer Front colt galloped out five feathers in 1:02.

Bhupat Seemar said the workout “went according to plan,” having been stripped of five days from the classical program on May 7.
Seemar says: “He can be very strong if he is with you. “So you know, he finished well, then ran home. That’s it in his hand.”

While Summer Is Tomorrow was whizzing through the lanes, other ponies came out brilliantly in the first laps of the track, among them Fasig-Tipton Fountain of Youth (G2) winner Simplify and Runhappy Santa Anita Derby winner (G1) Taiba .
Taiba gallops under the guidance of Humberto Gomez, Justify gymnast for trainer Bob Baffert during the successful Triple Crown run of the foal in 2018. Taiba, formerly coached by Mr. Baffert, now regulated by Tim Yakteen while Baffert gets a 90-day suspension for drug violations on his intern Medina Spirit at the Kentucky Derby last year.
In addition to Taiba, Yakteen is also the runner-up of the Derby Santa Anita Messier , another 3-year-old who had been coached by Baffert, pointed towards this 1/4 mile Derby. He also galloped Monday, doing so ahead of a stage dedicated to the athletes of the Kentucky Derby and Longines Kentucky Oaks (G1).
Un Ojo did not train on Monday and was withdrawn from Derby for consideration after coach Ricky Courville said his left forefoot was bruised.

Summer Is Tomorrow started a race longer than many potential Kentucky Derby customers, raced 1 3/16 miles in the UAE Derby. Reaching beyond seven stretches for the first time, he led for most of the race before winning the final leg and being overtaken Crown Pride , who also ran in the Derby. Seemar’s pony was beaten 2 3/4 length.
“He’s going to have a lot of conditions from that race,” the coach said. “And this time we actually trained them a mile and a quarter. So, you know, he’s going to be a much better horse.”
Summer Is Tomorrow is expected to be one of the first flights of the runner-up under Mickael Barzalona during the Kentucky Derby. He drew column 4 at the column placement draw Monday afternoon, where the field overflowed 20, plus two gems also in order. This is an ideal outcome for Seemar, who said Monday morning his favorite posts will be between 4 and 8.
Transported into Louisville early Monday morning was the Curlin Florida Derby winner presented by Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms at Xalapa (G1) White Abarrio .
“He arrived at 4:30 this morning,” said coach Saffie Joseph Jr. “He was a bit nervous when he first arrived but now he is relaxed and settled into a good life.”
Joseph, who expressed satisfaction with White Abarrio’s April 30 half-mile job at: 48.28 at Gulfstream Parkcame between races in their Saturday race, reporting that Race day The pony will go to the track tomorrow to jog or gallop.
Joseph said: “I am very happy with the way he came in (Kentucky Derby). “I mean, there’s still five days to go and we need five good days to get everything right but so far so good.”
