Some people spend a lot of time making sure they have perfectly shaped brows. However, for rescue dog Betty, her beautiful brows aren’t likely to maintain high at all. At first glance, they seem fake, but she was actually born that way. Sadly, she was rejected by her first parents because of her unusual appearance, but she has matured a lot since then and she has accepted her beautiful color.
When she was just 5 months old, Betty was found wandering the streets on a cold winter day in Bratsk, Russia. A local shelter brought her in to save her from the cold. When they first saw her human-like eyebrows, they couldn’t believe their eyes. They had never seen anything like it before.
The shelter staff tried to wash off the eyebrows, but as it turned out, they were only part of Betty’s coat color. A veterinarian decided that she must be of the Husky breed because eyebrows are a sign of that lineage.
Betty quickly became famous thanks to her unique appearance. The shelter fell in love with her, and they knew that her unique traits didn’t stop her from being a happy and healthy puppy.
A home for Betty
The shelter posted photos of Betty online to help her get some attention. These adorable photos caught Oksana Maymsina’s eyes immediately and she knew she had to adopt this pet. Betty only had to spend a total of 5 days in the shelter thanks to her generous new mother.
At the shelter, Betty was originally named Frida after Frida Kahlo, an artist who also had very different eyebrows. However, Masymsina felt that the name Betty suited her better.
Betty has adapted to her new home quickly, and she is delighted to have finally found a loving family. She already knows some basic commands and she gets along well with her new feline sibling.
“I am the happiest [parent] of the most amazing dog ever. She even knows two commands: sit and come here,” Maymsina said. “I have a bunch of toys for her. She sleeps on the bed.”
Veterinarians have said that the eyebrow is similar to a birthmark. This means they will probably fade over the years, but they will never completely disappear.
Maymsina is very proud of Betty’s unique look and she loves to share photos of her beautiful dog. Betty is so happy to have finally found a mother who loves her, and she’s glad she’ll never be left alone on the cold streets again.
