Still not sure how to use Lightroom’s new masking tools? This will help you

If you’re still unsure exactly how to use masking in Lightroom, this should answer all your questions.

In recent articles here and here on Fstoppers, we saw how far Lightroom has come as a standalone tool. Traditionally, Adobe’s Lightroom software has been primarily seen as an organizing tool best suited for categorizing and cataloging images, while its counterpart in the Adobe suite, Photoshop, is used for other tasks. complex editing. However, with recent updates, Lightroom has become a much more capable editing tool in its own right, and much of that has to do with masking. But when I talk to many photographers, it’s still unclear how to use the full potential of Lightroom’s new masking features.

That’s why this amazing new video brought to you by aows is so helpful. It takes you through the editing process for multiple images and guides you specifically on how to use the new masking tool in Lightroom. During this process, you’ll learn about other tools to aid you in the process, such as linear gradients, radial gradients, and using brushes for more precise selections. Since the masking tool is relatively new to Lightroom, simply trying to get my head around the dialog box can be confusing in itself, which is what I find very helpful here. If you haven’t tried this tool yet because it seems a bit confusing, this should make things clearer for you. Give it a watch and let me know what you think in the comments section below.
