Stephen A. Smith has called for Lebron James to suspend
First Take cohost Stephen A. Smith wants LeBron James suspended after he elbowed Isaiah Stewart in the face.
“He has to be suspended,” Smith said on ESPN’s First Take. “I totally agree with Anthony Davis from the point of view, he doesn’t have a reputation for being a dirty player, that’s not what LeBron James is. But that doesn’t mean that play isn’t dirty. You swing. And because you swing the elbow and it does that kind of damage, that’s what sparked the incident.
“I don’t know much about Isaiah Stewart, respect his talent, he was built as a central midfielder. The way he acted after that, I think he deserves a multi-match suspension. You can’t act like that he’s run past a lot of players, a lot of coaches I’m not talking about holding him back The members were elderly men. He may have harmed his teammates. We know he didn’t mean to do that.”
James was suspended for one game. Stewart was suspended for two.
