Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Dwayne Haskins was killed in a car crash Saturday in Florida.
Haskins’ agent, Cedric Saunders, told ESPN of the midfielder’s death, and the Steelers released a statement of condolence to them.
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said: “I am deeply saddened and speechless with the unfortunate passing of Dwayne Haskins. “He quickly became part of our Steelers family upon his arrival in Pittsburgh and is one of our hardest workers, both on the field and in our community. Dwayne was a great teammate. great, but even a great friend to so many people, it breaks my heart.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Kalabrya, and his entire family during this difficult time.”
The 24-year-old Haskins was Washington’s first-round draft choice in 2019 and has started seven games, 2-5 as a rookie. The former Ohio State star suffered 1-5 in his next six season starts for the team, then made his debut.

The Steelers gave Haskins a chance to reinvigorate his career in January 2021 when they signed him a month after being released by Washington.
