Stargate: Timekeeper Looks Like a Sci-Fi Dark Tactical
Stargate: Timekeeper was announced back in May Not just a movie theater. Much of my initial concern was with its developer, Creative Forge Games, who made the cool but flawed stealth XCOMlike The doctrine of ghosts.
Now there’s a gameplay trailer that doesn’t have Stargate’s sound in action, and ooh, it looks a lot like Commandos.
Is Commandos still a reference to use? It’s like Desperados or, as the title says, Shadow Tactics. Stargate: Timekeepers is a real-time stealth strategy game about sneaking around the woods, distracting the guards, and killing the guys you just can’t avoid.
“Stargate: Timekeeper is a real-time strategy game where you lead a team of experts through a story-driven campaign set in the SG-1 universe,” Timekeepers said. Steam page. “Sneak your characters behind enemy lines, use their unique skills, craft the perfect plan to unravel the timeloop mystery and defeat the Goa’uld threat.”
There is not much more information than that and what was included in the original announcement. The Timekeeper’s storyline appears to “start at the end of season 7 of the main Stargate SG-1 storyline to create an origin story”, which tells the story of Commander Eva McCain as they aid SG-1 against against Anubis’ fleet in 14 missions.
I’m not a huge Stargate fan, despite watching too much when I stumbled across it on TV. I do enjoy real-time strategy, though, and will be into as many games of patrol and cone-viewing routes as I can. Timekeeper has no release date yet.
