Ten Strike Racing, Four Corners Racing Stable, Broadview Stables and Cory Moelis Racing’s Sponges closed into his 2021 campaign in the last stake race of the year in New York with $100,000 Alex M. Robb on Dec. 31.
Trained by Michelle Giangiulio, Sea Foam took the lead in every column in the nine-track test after winning the battle for the lead with Captain Bombastic and Jose Lezcano on the first turn. 6 year old son of Medaglia d’Oro moved forward with the lure of racer Kendrick Carmouche, leading the seven-man field through the opening quarter-mile with a score of 23.43. After crossing half a mile in: 47.92 and three quarters in 1:12.32, Sea Foam was joined by Our Last Buck and Captain Bombastic when the field returns home.
With right-handed urging from Carmouche, Sea Foam bravely charged in, refusing to give up the lead to Our Last Buck and finished late. Danny California with Jose Ortiz in the center of the racetrack. Sea Foam resists Danny California’s charge to keep half the length under the wire. Our last buck completed the trilogy.
“He’s a trick horse,” said Carmouche, who rode the Sea Foam for the first time on his final start in third place in the Empire Classic. Belmont Park. “You just have to give him the lead and let him keep rolling. (Giangiulio) got him ready for the last race at Belmont. I just took him in the lead and managed him from there. Alex M. Robb for the New York hybrid is the second bet win this year for Sea Foam, who beat Evan Shipman Handicap Aug. Racecourse Saratoga, giving Giangiulio the first equity win in her coaching career. Sea Foam was previously conditioned by Christophe Clement, winning a Notebook win at Aqueduct as a minor and two bet wins as a sophomore before being claimed for $45,000. from winning at Saratoga this year by his current relationships.
“It was difficult to understand how well I did,” said Giangiulio. “I’ve always had confidence in myself as a coach, but it’s hard to think about what I’ve achieved. I’ve spent years on this, so it doesn’t look like it happens in the past. one early one afternoon. I’m very happy and emotional. have also worked the way it has for some really good people. That’s great.”
Bred in New York by Waterville Lake Stables, the Sea Foam raked in $55,000 for Alex M. Robb’s win, bringing his total in-wallet earnings to $774,745 and improving his record to 10-3-3 from the 26th start.
