Sociologists internationally accuse Greta Thunberg of supporting the establishment – Do you support that?

Essay by Eric Worrall

The proof is in the cracks appearing in the ruins of the climate strike movement that Greta Thunberg once led.

The fight for a future without climate change and war is the fight for world socialism!

This week and next, students and young people across Australia are taking part in protests against government inaction on climate change and environmental degradation.

But we warn that event organizers, School Strike 4 Climate (SS4C), is seeking to derail mass protest and push it behind the political parties responsible for the environmental crisis. Any suggestion that the upcoming federal election on May 21 will help tackle climate change, or any other substantive problem facing young people and workers, is a lie. lie.

SS4C’s planned activities this month are intended to narrow the focus. In the past, the protests — involving hundreds of thousands of countries — were part of global climate strikes involving millions of young people. This time, the events are planned small and isolated as a deliberate attempt to appease young people who are increasingly radicalized.

Many SS4C events are specifically advertised as “election strikes” with city and regional centers not even hosting the event. Some actions are not even warnings.

Greta Thunberg is mostly unreliable these days, but I hope some of you will find it interesting to see the eventual demise of her movement.

The international socialists themselves were a small remnant. I doubt international socialists can rally more than a hundred or so mostly aging “students” to a protest, at least in Australia. The day their brand of anarchist socialism was pretty much done, angry young people flocked to more interesting brands like Antifa or Extinction Rebellion.

And the idea of a Greta school strike outside the major cities and a few major regional centers is ridiculous. Leftist support for higher fuel prices in the name of climate action is not working well in most rural Australia. Our vast distances make driving electric transportation and high gas prices a painful experience for most rural people.

Maybe at the height of Greta’s movement, before fuel prices rose, before she turned 18, she was able to muster a few followers in rural Australia.

What I find interesting about this statement by the International Socialists is the confirmation that Greta’s brand, her once-impressive global climate school movement, seems to have shrunk to the point where friends Her companions don’t hesitate to try to knock her down to make themselves look better. Not that it will do the socialists well.

In two weeks, Australians vote in a federal election. Greta Thunberg and her school strike movement have disappeared from the news in Australia, along with the fake climate crisis. Some conservatives in the city are spooked by the challenge from the so-called green independents, but few outside the inner-city are concerned with the “crisis of our times.”

There is a vast cloud of indifference over the upcoming Australian Federal election, none of which can inspire a mainstream candidate. The cost of living is a big concern, but no one seems to offer convincing solutions. The election is shaping the choice between the incumbent, who promises much of the same, and the challenger, the person whose lack of preparation and inability to remember anything about the economy he was going to manage became an important electoral problem.. The parts of the Australian federal election campaign that I have bothered to watch rarely mention climate change.
