Joel Embiid will return to the Philadelphia 76ers squad for Saturday night’s game against Minnesota.

After playing nine of the Sixers’ first ten games, Embiid has missed the 76ers in the past nine after being included in the league’s health and safety regulations on Nov. 8. Philadelphia lost only 3- 7 of the last ten games and dropped to ninth in the Eastern Conference. They lost their first five games without an All-Star center.

The Athetic’s Shams Charania tweeted this week that Embiid is “increase” his condition this week in preparation for a comeback. Embiid will likely need some time to return to the game, but his return will spur the team as they look to return to the upper half of the Eastern Conference.
Philadelphia has been hit hard with Covid, with Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle and Isaiah Joe all joining health and safety protocols so far this season.
Embiid was averaging 21.4 points and 9.6 rebounds in nine games before joining the Covid protocol.
Harris will also return to the Sixers squad for the game against Minnesota after missing the last two games because of a pain in his left hip.
