Siladen is back — and so are the baby turtles

Located in the heart of the stunning Bunaken Marine Park, Siladen is one of the most popular resorts of North Sulawesi, no matter your favorite great photo opportunity, free or just hang out, eat a lot of foodand Watch baby turtles scramble out of their nests. And after two long years Indonesia was closed to the outside world due to COVID, the country, the resort and Spectacular wall diving can be accessed again.

The resort has officially opened since January 5 and started welcoming international visitors back, but with the hassle of getting a visa before traveling. Now, like last time COVID, the Indonesian Immigration Department has finally reinstated visa on arrival in Manado, Jakarta and Bali for 60 countries and there is no requirement for PCR or rapid antigen test for entry into the country This is for vaccinated travelers. Here’s how General Manager Miguel Ribeiro and Customer Experience Manager Ana Fonseca shared the good news with us:

Our entire team is delighted to welcome you back to the resort and look forward to welcoming you in a friendly and cheerful manner, ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction are paramount. our top priority. One of our greatest joys this year is welcoming so many repeat guests who have been waiting for Indonesia to lift restrictions. These guests are delighted to see the familiar smiling faces of our wonderful team back at the dive center, restaurant and other departments.

We received very good feedback from returning guests when they realized that we had maintained the resort during the pandemic, so it looks very nice. This year we also have a rainy season with lots of water, so the campus is green and lush.

Teddy, our very popular and longtime dive center employee, remains one of the dive center managers. This year, we’re also excited to welcome Melania and Daniel to the Siladen Dive family to work alongside Teddy. Melania and Daniel are an Italian/Danish couple who have been together for four years, working together for the love of the ocean. The very experienced couple came to us directly from the Maldives.

With the mandatory cessation of diving in Sulawesi during Covid, coral reefs and marine life have flourished. The dive was amazing and we not only found interesting creatures like the brilliant cuttlefish and the Spanish dancer sea cucumber while diving at night but also several species of eagle rays. A school of baby blackhead sharks is also regularly spotted in the shallow waters in front of the resort. The Last Dolphin tour was amazing, with many dolphins spotted in Bunaken National Park, and a school of pilot whales was seen regularly near Siladen and Bunaken.

This year, we are delighted to welcome several new baby turtles, with several nests having hatched in the last days. There are three other nests on our beach that will hatch in the next few months.
