Sanchez Tops Hammer in a dull love affair
By: Sean Crose
Frank Sanchez highlighted the undercard Luis Ortiz-Charles Martin on Saturday by facing fellow heavyweight Christian Hammer in a scheduled 10th round. The first round is near, with each man having his own moments. 19-0 Sanchez and 26-8-0 Hammer kept things tight in the second half. Sanchez worked his body well in the third half. Wednesday was a sloppy situation, with Hammer stepping up the action, but landing poorly, and Sanchez himself didn’t land particularly well.
The fifth round is a less positive affair for either person. Hammer continued to chase his opponent throughout season six, but couldn’t seem to pull the trigger. Honestly, it’s not enough to distinguish the seventh round from the previous ones. It’s simply fighting style. Nothing particularly stands out in season eight. In the end, Sanchez came to his elder in ninth place, although Hammer stood firm. Sanchez continued to land well into the tenth, rewarded with a knock-out that could have been a hit, along with a decisive victory by the referees after the final bell rang.
