“That’s one of my idols,” Ryan Garcia said of Manny Pacquiao on a recent occasion FightHub videotapes. “I really admire Pacquiao.” While Garcia has a reputation for being flashy, if not flashy – and Pacquiao wasn’t one of those things in his ring career – it’s clear that Garcia truly admires Pacquiao as a martial artist and a human. “People don’t know,” Garcia continued, “but he’s one of the people I look at and I’m like ‘man, this guy is everything I want to be a career, as a career,’ as a person. As a fighter, because he did everything with such grace and he did spectacular fights, he helped his community. ”

Without a doubt, Pacquiao is famous for his genetic personality, especially when it comes to the impoverished people of his native Philippines. “I’m trying to do the same thing,” Garcia said, referring to Pacqiuao’s charitable acts. “I want to give back to the younger generation.” Garcia may aspire to be like Pacquiao, but he’s got the same thing with another famous boxer – Tyson Fury. Like Fury, Garcia is not shy about going public about the emotional challenges he faces. “I have faced a lot of drama in my short career,” Sports Illustrated quote Garcia. “But I think things are going for the better.”

After a fifteen-month absence from the ring, Garcia will return to the public on April 9 facing Emmanuel Tagoe. Round 12 is scheduled to go down at the Alamodome and will be broadcast live on the DAZN streaming service. Although Tagoe 32-1 isn’t a big name at the moment, the man hasn’t lost since his first game – and that was almost 20 years ago. However, Garcia 21-0 seems to be working with a sober head and his thunderous powers.

He also has a new champion in his corner – legendary trainer Joe Goosen. Garcia was recently with esteemed Canelo Alvarez coach Eddie Reynoso, but decided to move on to Goosen, who helped back Garcia when the young Californian was an amateur. “Joe is a hard worker,” Sports Illustrated quoted Garcia as saying, “and he’s the old-fashioned type of trainer, and I like that because I’m the old-fashioned boxer.” As the page turns to a new chapter in her already famous career, Garcia seems self-aware enough to recognize when a change is needed, on or off the field… some other common ground This 23 year old man has. Pacquiao.
