Round trip flights to Frankfurt, Munich and Rome start at $460


As the holidays approach, flights to Europe continue to roll out — flying to Frankfurt, Munich or Rome from various US cities for as low as $460.

Many airlines are offering significantly discounted fares to these three European cities for travel from January to March 2023. If you’re flying from Chicago, more tickets will be available in April and from May. September to October next year.

Visit the Colosseum in Rome, stroll through Munich’s central Marienplatz to photograph its magnificent Gothic buildings, or explore Frankfurt’s Old Town, which resembles a picturesque Christmas village. There is so much to do and experience in these three cities.

These flights fill up quickly, especially at such low prices, so plan your trip and book your tickets to Europe early.

Most of the routes in this agreement are mainly on the East and West coasts. However, there are some available in Chicago and even San Juan, Puerto Rico. While Frankfurt and Munich have only six routes, Rome has many more, with 25 available.

For a February 9 flight to Munich from Philadelphia, Google Flights shows the $514 flight as the cheapest option. Delta also offers a flight from Philadelphia for $517. The US flight to Munich departs Philadelphia at 13:52 and includes a stop in Charlotte.

Upon returning to Philadelphia, American offered a February 16 flight departing from Munich at 10:20 a.m. The return flight also has a transit point in Charlotte.

The travel time of flights between Philadelphia and Munich is long (one is more than 11 hours and the other is more than 13 hours). However, the $514 price tag is considered low, as the cheapest flights to Munich range from $560 to $1,650, according to Google Flights.

bottom line

While most travel dates in this deal are during some of the colder months in Europe, it’s still worth booking ahead because of the low prices.

One of the advantages of visiting Europe in winter and early spring is that you can see all the major attractions without finding yourself stuck in the crowds of tourists.
