Ron DeSantis will get back to you about his surname pronunciation

There’s a lot we can expect from a Ron DeSantis president, if the governor of Florida wins the Republican primary and then the general election. For one thing, it’s going to be scary, as DeSantis takes on free speech, LGBTQ+ rights, abortion, science, and treating people like chat. On the other hand, it will more than likely involve his man carrying a spoon at all times, to avoid any unfortunate pudding incidents. But one thing remains a mystery? Will Ron be called the President or not?”Deh-Santis” or “Dee-Santis”…because apparently, the candidate himself doesn’t know.

Here’s Axios with the cryptic report:

Some presidential candidates struggle to complete their messages. Ron DeSantis is struggling to identify his NAME. In the early days of the campaign, DeSantis went back and forth between pronouncing his name. Dee-Santis and Deh– Santis. Why it matters: DeSantis’ disagreement over his naming—an issue that has confused his campaign groups for years—is a curious one as many leaders GOP leaders and donors wondered if Florida’s governor was ready to oversee the presidential campaign.

According to the source, during his first week as an official GOP candidate, DeSantis was accompanied by “Dee” at least twice, including in a radio interview and in an announcement video about the announcement. His candidacy:

But then, in a twist:

DeSantis pronounced it”Deh-Santis” in an interview with Fox News, Glenn Beck, Erick EricksonAnd Mark Levin in this week.

And much more:

Early in his political career, DeSantis, 44, seemed to use “Dee-Santis” more often—then begins the slow and still incomplete development into “Deh-Santis”. During the 2018 Florida gubernatorial race, the candidate and his wife pronounced his name differently in television commercials: He said “”Dee-Santis” in his first TV spot, and she said “Deh-Santis” in another. When a reporter noted the difference, a campaign spokesman at the time said the candidate “prefers ‘Dee-Santis.’” The duel pronunciation tripped the others. When DeSantis was sworn in as governor for a second term in January, the Florida judge named him “Dee-Santis”—and the governor repeated, “Deh– Santis.”

When asked by Axios about the official, correct pronunciation, strangely enough, DeSantis’ campaign didn’t respond—while the DeSantis-matched Super PAC Never Back Down refused to answer. It’s not clear why, but it seems likely that they don’t really know, because DeSantis hasn’t decided yet.

Naturally, the Trump campaign took this as proof that the governor was not a good fit for the White House. A Trump campaign spokesman told Axios: “Ron DeSantis is a fake who can’t decide how to pronounce his name. “If you can’t name yourself, how can you lead a country?” On Thursday, Trump himself stated:
