Robert Lewandowski’s 70,000 euro watch was stolen outside Barcelona’s training ground


Robert lewandowski had his watch worth about €70,000 ($71,000) stolen when he stopped for supporters on his way to Barcelona training on Wednesday.

The police tracked down and arrested the thief, who buried the watch nearby.

Like Lewandowski, the €45 million summer signing from Bayern MunichWhile taking pictures with fans in the car outside Barca’s training ground, the thief opened the passenger door and swiped his watch.

Lewandowski tried to chase him but he escaped, only to be found later by local police.

Barca have had issues with security at the entrance to their training ground before, with players complaining about stunts caused by people filming videos for TikTok.

However, club sources say they will now make further security changes to avoid similar incidents in the future.

Lewandowski made his debut for Barcelona in their LaLiga opener on Saturday – a disappointment goalless draw at home Rayo Vallecano. The Poland international is registered with LaLiga just a day before Barcelona sell more properties to meet the league’s strict financial regulations.

Barcelona will play the second game of the season at Real Sociedad on Sunday (live stream, 4 p.m. ET, ESPN+).
