Rivian R1S and R1T with max battery pack delayed to 2023



Rivian will delay its delivery electric pickup truck and sport utility vehicle with big the battery packing through 2023, RJ CEO Scaringe said in a notice to customers on Tuesday.

Scaringe says the majority of Rivian’s approximately 71,000 pre-orders for R1T pickup truck and R1S SUVs in the United States and Canada are available for a variant with a small battery pack option, providing 314 miles of range on a single charge.

“To serve the largest number of pre-orderers, we will prioritize building Adventure Packs with large batteries over the next year,” Scaringe said in a letter posted by a Rivian customer on Reddit, a media platform. social media.

Rivian says that in early 2022, it will introduce a feature to customers on their Rivian account that will display their current delivery time estimate.
