River Tiber , the 3-1 morning-line favorite for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1T), was among the newly announced scratches the morning of Nov. 3 ahead of Friday’s five Breeders’ Cup races for 2-year-olds at Santa Anita Park. The Juvenile Turf is the ninth race on Friday’s card.
Also scratched is Breeders’ Futurity (G1) runner-up The Wine Steward , who had been entered in the Juvenile (G1), race 8.
Spectacular weather is expected for Friday’s races with the forecast calling for a temperature of 84 degrees under sunny skies for the day’s first Breeders’ Cup race, the Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1T), scheduled as race 5 with a projected post time of 2 p.m.
