Jockey Umberto Rispoli is graced with grass-court races at Del Mar. Specifically, the betting races on the grass field. While race lover’s New Dream took the lead in the early tracks, Warrens Candy Girl was determined to overtake the leader in the final yards to claim the top spot with 1:35.23 for the turf test. one mile.

Rispoli, a native of Naples, Italy, has been driving full-time in the United States starting in 2020 in Santa Anita and Los Alamitos after riding in Hong Kong, France, Japan and Italy. He moved to Kentucky this past spring but returned to southern California for the late spring/summer meet at Santa Anita. He is currently in second place in the Del Mar standings with 19 wins and over $1.6 million in his wallet.
Other contenders for Jockey of the Week are David Cabrera, who returned to horseback riding after a serious accident on the track to win the Governor’s Cup at Remington Park, Tyler Gaffalione, who traveled to Del Mar to win the Gr. .
