Riakporhe seeks to punish Jumah on Saturday night

Richard Riakporhe is confident that Deion Jumah won’t be able to withstand his blows when the two undefeated cruisers fight tomorrow night.

Both fighters were brought up against each other after their original rivals Fabio Turchi and Mikael Lawal withdrew due to injuries.

During his final press conference yesterday, Riakporhe gave a photo of Jumah’s inactivity and the number of times he’s fought since turning pro.

“Looking at Deion, it’s interesting. He’s been pro for a very long time, only having 14 teamfights, never having a significant win. It makes you wonder what’s going on with him. He calls himself ‘The Ghost’ – he was once a ghost. It just shows there are different levels, you know?

“I don’t know, I think there’s something about it. Maybe it was bad luck [on his part], I do not know. But we’ll put our finger on it on Saturday night.

“He is saying a good game and he is also undefeated. I understand how stubborn the undefeated boxer can be but once I started letting go, I don’t think he was qualified to take the penalty. ”

Jumah, equally confident, said he was a “super fighter” and thought Riakporhe would have to go back to his old habits to beat him.

“I think Richard is still very early in his education. He showed a bit more boxing skills in the last two, three fights. But he’ll have to get back to his power punch and offload the heavyweight, early knockout in this bout when he finds out I’m a super boxer. So here’s what we expect from him and here’s what we know will happen.

“I am definitely a top fighter and if he wants to lighten the load [power] like he did in the past, I’ve got something for him. “
